Wow, do I need some advice about the human-animal bond, my 9 year old son has fish and his sister has a cat, he is obsessed with animals and can draw them like an adult, only reads books on animals and watches documentaries on animals (especially African animals). This week we are housesitting and he’s been watching Animal Planet and getting all tearful because he doesn’t have a dog. After beautiful interactions with animals he always gets tearful because he wants one so bad, which isn’t possible in our small upstairs apartment. He has this incredibly strong attachment to his fictitious animal, the root of all his suffering. He gets plenty of love but its true as he tells me, I don’t follow him around like a dog might. We are dog friend searching, that’s the only solution I can think of for now

Thanks for visiting and following my blog “Reflections,” Michele. … Animals play a very important role in my life on so many levels so I get your fascination with the human-animal bond. I wish you well on your research. Have you heard of Equine-Assisted Therapy/Personal Development? Powerful stuff. Check out http://www.chrisirwin.com and his link to EAPD for his work in this area, if you’re interested. The bond between horse and human is among the strongest of all. It’s changed my life … Thanks again and be well. I’m following you too … Dorothy

Thank you so much! Although I’m not doing a case study, I will keep that in mind for any future research endeavours I may partake in.
Ok. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer a year ago and had been dealing with a laundry list of other health issues prior to the diagnosis. I’m pretty sure if she didn’t have her dogs to care for and to lavish with her love, she wouldn’t have made it this far. The bond she has with them is often disregarded and disparaged by those who don’t understand.
Nice to meet you! I have done extensive animal advocacy for 7 years. I am very sensitive to the needs of animals, their emotions, even feel for little bugs struggling. Bless you for writing about the animals to increase awareness!
Nice to meet you as well.
Thanks for stopping by.
I did alot of research in my state on animal shelter abuse. Very sad.
